Although The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin were promoted for last night’s Smackdown, they were never used on camera. Some talent who were advertised, like Mick Foley and Kurt Angle, were only shown at their seats watching the show. When the show was over and the lights came up, fans started booing when they realized Stone Cold or Undertaker we’re not going to be making an appearance and no dark match was taking place. Fans who were upset began chanting for AEW.

The end of the show saw Cain Velasquez make his WWE debut to face off with Brock Lesnar. Kofi Kingston had just dropped the WWE title to Lesnar in 7 seconds. After chasing Lesnar out of the ring, Cain was staring at Lesnar for what felt to some as way too long. This has led people to believe that the segment was stretched out because something went wrong with the timing of the show which may explain why some people were advertised and not used.
