Final Fantasy XIV Unveils Mock Tourist Website for New Expansion Continent Tural

on

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail’s release may be just six days away, but Square Enix aren’t leaving players out to dry with a lack of content as they launch a new Tural tourism website. TourToral.com went live earlier today, and acts as a mock website promoting the upcoming FFXIV expansion.

Featuring a host of real and fake content, the mock-website, purportedly from the “Board of Turalism” promises “Discovery, indulgence, and adventure await! Why be a tourist when you can be a Turalist?” Tural is starting location of FFXIV: Dawntrail, and the continent will feature heavily in the new story, as players attempt to solve political strife and uncover mysteries. Seemingly a mix of tropical paradise, and Mesoamerican-style architecture and landscapes, Tural is giving Final Fantasy XIV a fresh new location, and this website is celebrating all of it.

The website features sections such as Discovery, Inspiration, Before You Go, culture guides, and a blog. These translate into previews of the upcoming content, such as NPCs, Mounts, Minions, locations and more. We’ve already seen a lot of this before as Dawntrail has been previewed over the last few months, but it’s still exciting.

The most featured creature is definitely the Alpaca, which has warnings and profiles scattered across the site. And the site even features a fake merchandise shop, and job listings for the Board of Touralism.

TourToral.com will also feature daily updates from the Deputy Director of Turalism; a kind of video blog each day until release.

Overall it’s a nice way to hype up players for the expansion, especially in the long 48-hour downtime for maintenance that they’re currently experiencing.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail releases on June 28 in early access, and for the whole playerbase on July 2. Stick with Esports.net as we cover the release with guides, news, and more.
