It looks like the WWE will be continuing their trend of long shows with this year’s SummerSlam. Dave Meltzer is predicting a 5-6 hour long show this year. As of right now, he’s expecting a 2 hour long pre-show along with 3-4 hours for the main card.
“Yeah, [SummerSlam] will go to midnight. So it’s five and a half right there — maybe six.” – Dave Meltzer on the length of SummerSlam.
He does note that he is not for this move at all. Fans, especially those in the arena, have been complaining about these long events because they’re tired by the end.
“The big ones they want to do real long shows. Hopefully they don’t. You know with like Bischoff and Heyman — with power recommending to Vince, I really would hope that they would see the light and say that you really don’t want to go over five.” – Dave Meltzer on not wanting to see long shows.
SummerSlam is August 11th this year and will be headlined by Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar for the Universal championship.
