Monday’s taped New Year’s Eve edition of WWE RAW, featuring RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Natalya defeating Nia Jax and Tamina Snuka in the main event, drew 1.968 million viewers.

This week’s viewership is up 11.8% from last week’s 1.775 million viewers for the Christmas Eve episode, which was the lowest viewership in history. RAW aired on New Year’s Day in 2018 and drew 2.865 million viewers. The last time RAW aired on New Year’s Eve was in 2012. That show drew 3.55 million viewers, which was up 13% from the Christmas Eve episode the week before.

For this week’s show, the first hour drew 2.035 million viewers (last week’s hour 1 – 1.752 million), the second hour drew 2.026 million viewers (last week’s hour 2 – 1.789 million) and the final hour drew 1.843 million viewers (last week’s hour 3 – 1.784 million).

RAW was #4 for the night in viewership on cable, for the second week in a row, behind the NC State vs. Texas A&M college football game, the Missouri vs. Oklahoma State college football game and the Cincinnati vs. Virginia Tech college football game. RAW was #4 in the 18-49 demographic this week, for the third week in a row, behind the three college football games.

The NC State vs. Texas A&M game topped the night in the 18-49 demographic and in viewership this week with 5.142 million viewers. There was no NFL Monday Night Football game this week, breaking a 16-week run at #1 for the NFL. The Missouri vs. Oklahoma game came in at #2 in the 18-49 demographic with 3.830 million viewers, and SportsCenter Late came in at #3 on the Cable Top 150 with 1.936 million viewers.

ABC’s NYE special drew 7.961 million viewers on broadcast TV in the 8pm hour while The Neighborhood drew 3.042 million viewers on CBS, the NBC Toast To 2018 special drew 4.570 million viewers, the Steve Harvey Live special on Fox drew 2.942 million viewers and CW’s IHeartRadio Music special drew 627,000 viewers, all in the 8pm hour on broadcast TV.

WWE’s flagship show finished 2018 with a total of 149.628 million viewers over 53 episodes, an average of 2.823 million viewers per episode. This is down from the 2017 total of 156.971 million viewers over 52 episodes, with an average of 3.018 million viewers per episode.

To compare, Impact Wrestling finished the year with a total of 13.008 million viewers, an average of 250,154 viewers per episode. This is down from Impact’s 2017 total of 16.147 million viewers, with an average of 311,000 viewers per episode. We will have the SmackDown 2018 totals tomorrow.
