Jerry “The King” Lawler posted on Facebook earlier today announcing that he captured his 171st (or 172nd he’s lost count) championship at an indie event last night in Danbury, Connecticut. Lawler became a Northeast Wrestling tag team champion along with partner Keith Youngblood. He also reveals that wrestling legend Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat was in their corner.

Championship number 172, or 171, I’ve lost count. Last night in Danbury Connecticut, my partner here, Keith Youngblood, and I won the Northeast Wrestling Tag Team Championships. Special thanks to Ricky the Dragon Steamboat for being in our corner.
