Jinder Mahal trolls Rob Gronkowski after Super Bowl 52 loss

Jinder Mahal may have won the WWE championship and reached heights he never had since his run-in with Rob Gronkowski last year at WrestleMania, but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten.

Mahal took to Twitter on Sunday to taunt Gronkowski after the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles:

Mahal and Gronkowski’s “rivalry” extends back to last year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33. The Patriots tight end got into a verbal argument with Mahal and then jumped over the barricade, helping his friend Mojo Rawley eliminate Mahal to win the match.

“Rob Gronkowski cost me the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and I haven’t forgot that,” Mahal told Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. “There is definitely unfinished business between myself and Gronkowski, and I can guarantee he’ll be getting his receipt.”

After the 41-33 loss, Gronkowski told reporters his football future is uncertain, so perhaps he’ll get his “receipt” sooner than expected. WWE already made a splash by poaching a star from another sport this year, with Ronda Rousey making her debut at Royal Rumble.
