Headlining Wrestlemania 33 is a dream for just about every pro wrestler. John Cena is no stranger to that. After all, he is one of the biggest WWE superstars of all time. Many assumed that Cena has less of a chance of doing that nowadays. The former world heavyweight champion has transitioned into a part time performer. Cena wants to focus on outside business ventures. However, World Wrestling Entertainment might not be done with John in the top role. He might still get to headline Wrestlemania this year.

One of the big reasons why John Cena could headline Wrestlemania 33 is his real life girlfriend. Nikki Bella is retiring after the big pay per view. WWE wants to give her a big sendoff. They also know that the Total Divas camera crew will be on hand. A mixed tag team match would not normally get the chance to headline an event this big. However, the network might be able to convince World Wrestling Entertainment to use that final spot to boost ratings for their reality television show. There is also talks of a marriage proposal. That increases the chances of Nikki and John being in the final segment.

Another reason why WWE might choose John Cena and Nikki Bella to close out Wrestlemania 33 is because of Goldberg. Rumors are spreading that management simply does not believe that he can work a long match. That would explain how quick his matches have been. World Wrestling Entertainment might want to further protect Goldberg. They want to keep him injury free in case he comes back for Summerslam. Cena, Bella, Miz and Maryse can provide a couple of minutes in the main event.
