Kofi Kingston was recently interviewed by “The Independent”. During the interview, he addressed the trend towards more experienced wrestlers getting better opportunities. Here are the highlights:

On What Veterans Bring To The Table:

Absolutely, one thousand percent. AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton… you forget how long they’ve been doing this for. I don’t think there’s a person watching them that would say ‘they need to hang up their boots’ – they’ve got a lot more gas left in the tank.” Kofi would continue by saying he is grateful of the run he just started having and understands WWE is a hugely competitive market with limited hours of airtime each week.

On Who He Thinks Deserves More Opportunities:

I am happy to see Apollo Crews getting some time and he had a real good match with Kurt Angle on Raw last week. He is super athletic and super talented, so for him to get a chance to shine is awesome. I also think 205 Live is one of WWE’s best kept secrets.

On The New Day:

I get emotional thinking about it. The struggle for all of us getting on to television, was a very real struggle that we all went through together. Our support for each other is very real.
