LoL Swarm – what is it?
Swarm is the new PvE game mode that will be coming to League of Legends for the summer event. Set in the Anima Squad universe, Swarm will see players team up to defeat waves of Primordian enemies will gaining access to improved items and gaining unique combat abilities.
Swarm will be unlocked for all players who have finished the League of Legends Tutorial and it will feature four different maps, with each ending with an epic boss fight.
How will you play the game?
Unlike the traditional Summoners’ Rift game mode, Swarm will be played by using the WASD keys, fighting the enemies by using the cursor to control the aim. Each character, which is called fighter in this game mode, is given a different set of statistics, and will all gain powerups and equipment to transform their fighting capabilities (you can get a total of 4 additional weapons and 6 skills).
According to what has been revealed, there will be a total of 9 playable fighters in the game mode, and you will be able to queue up alone or as a party of four people. The available champions are as follows:
- Jinx
- Seraphine
- Aurora
- Illaoi
- Leona
- Xayah
- Yasuo
- Riven
- Briar
In the game, you will first start only with your Passive, and you’ll unlock the abilities after hitting levels 3 and 6. The XP is earned by killing enemies and every time you level up, you will be able to choose one of three Augments.
When Will League of Legends Swarm Game Mode be available?
Swarm is set to hit the live servers alongside the release of the LoL Patch 14.14, which is scheduled on Wednesday, July 17. The new champion, Aurora, is also set to be released on the same update, making it an important milestone for season 14.
