He’s always had the gift of gab, and delivered some pretty great solo promos in his career. But Mark Briscoe’s inspired brand of pro wrestling lunacy has always worked best when he’s interacting with others.
Tragically, he can no longer share the microphone with his late brother Jay’s country cool. But over the last three weeks of AEW Dynamites, he’s discovered a new winning formula with Kyle O’Reilly and Orange Cassidy – with an assist from the always excellent Renee Paquette.
He had to cut in during their initial group interview, but quickly stole the show. That first scene gave us his word of the day…

… which a week later became two words of the day…

… and then last night (June 26) we learned that the first word of the day was now the team’s name…
The word of today is ‘Synchronicity’ as told by Kyle O’Reilly. The Conglomeration are ready for a fight!

It’s info we get from Cassidy, whose muted reaction to Briscoe’s fire closes out every scene and almost causes Paquette to break. They’re as important as O’Reilly, who initially was motivated by the ROH World champion and now is trying to learn from him.
The group we can now call The Conglomeration has been one of my favorite things on Dynamite every week. And their in-ring work is a blast too, from O’Reilly’s technical battle with Zack Sabre, Jr. last night (although OC on commentary was funny for a minute but wore out its welcome by match’s end), and an intriguing conglomeration (see what I did there? I hope Chick would be proud) with Sabre’s New Japan TMDK faction and Undisputed Kingdom with Bullet Club War Dogs’ Gabe Kidd after the match.
Doesn’t feel like a group with a long shelf-life; a major plot development for KOR and his old pal Roderick Strong’s squad still seems like the plan. But I’m going to enjoy The Conglomeration for however long it lasts, and hope AEW remembers this formula for Mark for as long as he wants to keep running his mouth on their pro rasslin’ shows.
