We’re counting down the days until the Panthers kick off the 2024 season.

We’re officially 66 days away from the Carolina Panthers kicking off the 2024 NFL season against the New Orleans Saints. It will be their second consecutive road opener. Now it’s time for our annual roster countdown to highlight the players on the Panthers’ roster. Today, we’re taking a closer look at No. 66 — offensive guard Nash Jensen.

Jensen was signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. The 6’4”, 328 lbs lineman was not expected to play much his rookie season. Unfortunately, a torrent of injuries at offensive guard led Jensen to see action in 11 games, including five starts. After redshirting his freshman year at North Dakota State, Jensen set a NCAA record with 70 games played for the Bison. Last season’s losing record was likely a culture shock for Jensen, since he helped NDSU to four FCS titles in his six seasons with the team. He was named to the FCS All-American team his final season in Fargo.

Despite a forgettable (which is often a compliment for an offensive lineman) performance his rookie season, the Panthers spent heavily in free agency on offensive guards, signing Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis to massive deals. On top of those signings, the team also expects Brady Christensen and Chandler Zavala to return from injury this season. That’s a lot of bodies for Jensen to compete with. Hopefully what he put on tape last season is enough to keep him as a depth piece of the offensive line.
