We’re counting down the days until the Panthers kick off the 2024 season.

We’re officially 70 days away from the Carolina Panthers kicking off the 2024 NFL season against the New Orleans Saints. It will be their second consecutive road opener. Now it’s time for our annual roster countdown to highlight the players on the Panthers’ roster. Today, we’re taking a closer look at the player who currently wears the No. 70 jersey — offensive lineman Brady Christensen.

Christensen is a 6’6”, 300 lb BYU product who the Panthers selected with the No. 70 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Christensen is the most successful—and one of four—offensive lineman the Panthers drafted between taking Taylor Moton in 2017 and Ikem Ekwonu in 2022. The other three linemen selected in that timeframe were Greg Little (No. 37, 2019), Dennis Daley (No 212, 2019), and Deonte Brown (No. 193, 2021).

His first season with the Panthers was a mixed bags, with fans and coaches alike apparently split on whether he should be a tackle or a guard. He ultimately started six games for the Panthers in 2021 as a tackle. Then, in 2022, he started all 17 games at left guard.

He has played limited snaps since suffering a broken ankle in the 2021 Week 17 game against the New Orleans Saints and a torn biceps in Week 1 of 2022.

Since that injury and the chaos that followed, the Panthers famously spent $150 million on a pair of guards in free agency this year. That strategy has relegated Christensen to a backup role where he may be expected to fill in at almost every position along the offensive line in 2024.
