We’re counting down the days til the start of the 2024 season for the Carolina Panthers. We have 72 days to go, so that means we put the spotlight on Taylor Moton, offensive tackle and #72 in your program.
Moton has been a mainstay on the Panthers offensive line since they made him the 64th overall pick in the 2017 draft. He only played spot duty on offense during his rookie season and did the bulk of his work on special teams, but he earned the starting nod at right tackle going into his second season, and he hasn’t given that spot up since. He’s played in all 115 games they Panthers have played since he was drafted, and he’s started the last 99.
During that time, Moton has been one of the better yet more underappreciated offensive tackles in the NFL. He’s not a superstar, but he’s steady and reliable, and it’s a dream to have an offensive lineman with his health record.
Moton enters this season etched in stone as the team’s starting right tackle. He’s a part of a revamped offensive line that will hopefully give Bryce Young better protection and open up the team’s new and improved run game under new head coach Dave Canales.
