Some respect tossed Tampa Bay’s way.

Remember when the Buccaneers were believed to be one of the worst teams in the NFL by nearly all major outlets around this time last year? Man, what a time that was.

Tampa Bay would ultimately finish 9-8 and get into the playoffs as NFC South Division Champions before reaching the second round of the playoffs and losing to the Detroit Lions. Their 2023 season as a surprise to many and in 2024, things are already looking like this Baker Mayfield-led team has earned some respect.

Pro Football Talk released their pre-camp rankings recently. The usual teams of course topped the list, but the Bucs cracked the Top 10.

Some will say they are fine being doubted as it provides bulletin board material. But it’s also nice to switch things up. Let the Bucs be respected and ranked high, they earned it. The Buccaneers will be fielding a good roster in 2024 and there is a good aura hovering over this Bucs team after their offseason workouts.

Sure there is uncertainty looking ahead. But for now, enjoy and embrace it. Teams like the Chiefs, 49ers, and others embrace their notoriety and live up to their expectations each year. Let the Bucs try to do the same for a change.
