The tennis player from Manacor has given an extensive interview to the French medium L’Equipe, where he detailed that every day he feels better and that the retirement could be away for a while.

“My feelings over the last few weeks have made me want to explore a little more, to see what can happen. I feel like I’m getting back the pleasure of playing, of having fun. I want to give myself the opportunity to see if my physique stays at this level or if this is just a passing moment and starts to go wrong again,” said 14 owner Roland Garros.

Rafael Nadal is preparing for the Olympics

Rafael Nadal will be the big attraction of the ATP 250 Bastad 2024 that will mean his return to the slopes and will be played from 15 to 21 July. The fact that it is held a few days before the Olympics makes important players seek to acquire pace on clay. Proof of this is to see how players of the level of Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud, Tallon Griekspoor or Mariano Navone have registered in the Swedish event, although above all one name stands out: that of Jannik Sinner.

A turning point for Nadal has been to return to Roland Garros, the Iberian player received a huge boost in a tournament in which he regained the illusion of competing and where he confirmed that he can play with the best without any physical limitation.

“I have never made a hasty decision and this time will not be so. I’m giving myself time to see how I’m going to feel after the Olympics and then we’ll see what happens, what decisions I make.

But always with great serenity, with the satisfaction of having always given the best. And when I have to make a decision, I’ll make it. I always said that I thought this would be my last year, but I can’t be sure because at the end of the day you don’t know what will happen in the future,” the Spaniard told the French media about his possible retirement date.
