Wide receiver has been sitting on open market for almost 4 months
Hunter Renfrow has been an NFL free agent for nearly four months since he was released by the Las Vegas Raiders.
The former Pro Bowl slot wide receiver remains on the open market with training camps starting in three weeks. There have been some rumors (mostly the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints) about Renfrow’s future but for the most part it’s been pretty quiet, which is somewhat surprising in a league where teams often jump at the chance to give players another shot.
The fifth-round pick of the then-Oakland Raiders in 2019 was a popular player in the fan base. So, here’s an early-July question for you —- would you like to see the Raiders’ bring Renfrow back at the league minimum?
The truth is the Raiders don’t have a a big need for Renfrow and they believe second-year player Tre Tucker is ready to take the next step and they will play more double tight-end looks with rookie Brock Bowers and second-year player Michael Mayer.
Still, you can always make the point that the Raiders wouldn’t be worse with Renfrow on the roster at a much reduced rate.
