The Big 3 have distinguished themselves – as well as for the immense talent – also for the humility and the will to always find new solutions to win and work hard to never lose pace. It is precisely this quality that has impressed Jannik Sinner.

The South Tyrolean, at a press conference, answered a question about the documentary “Federer: Twelve Final Days” and – focusing on Federer, Djokovic and Nadal – talked about the most important lesson learned following their deeds.

The Big 3 remained at the top for many years

“I haven’t seen the documentary yet, so I don’t know specifically how it was made. What I can learn from them is how they have improved as players by fighting against each other.

Rafa came along at a certain moment and Roger Federer struggled to find a way to beat him. Then Novak came along… this is what allows tennis players to evolve and raise the level,” explained world number one Jannik Sinner.

“They have reached 100% in every respect. This is my dream: to get to the end of my career reaching my 100% physically, mentally and in the game. This is the most impressive thing they have done.”

It has been a historic year for Jannik Sinner, the 22-year-old Italian won his first Grand Slam at the Australian Open, raised his second Masters 1000 in Miami, plus two ATP 500 titles that have taken him to the top of the gentlemen’s standings, in which he lives his second week.

The native of San Candido will arrive at Wimbledon as the first classified, making history for his country by becoming the first Italian to climb the Cathedral of tennis as the best on the planet.
