As earlier reported, Daniel Bryan has been cleared to return to action. His has been absent from television and live events for the better part of a month as he has not appeared since his Wrestlemania 35 loss to Kofi Kingston.
There has not been much information on the nature and extent of his injury, but Dave Meltzer speculated on this morning’s edition of “Wrestling Observer Radio” that the cause of his absence stemmed from a concussion.
Meltzer’s rationale was that although he was unable to confirm a cause of the injury, the combination of Daniel Bryan’s history of concussions, the WWE being tight-lipped about the nature of the injury and the notion that there wouldn’t be any reason to hide a new injury leads him to believe that a concussion was the likely cause.
Given Bryan’s past history, Meltzer believes that this could be a concern going forward. However, he also feels that it can be viewed as a positive that it took this long for Bryan to receive a concussion following his return and that he was cleared so quickly thereafter.
