on

If there’s one esports player who is one of the most recognized within the BGMI community, it’s none other than ScoutOP. Tanmay “Sc0utOP” Singh is one of India’s most recognized esports creators and players. Currently, he’s the co-founder of the BGMI organization Team XSpark, who won the recently concluded BGIS 2024 in Hyderabad. In this exclusive interview with ScoutOP, we discuss his journey from an Esports Player to the owner of one of the best teams in the country.

To briefly recap his Esports career, ScoutOP was part of the famous Orange Rock’s PUBG Mobile roster, which finished second in the PUBG Mobile World League 2020: East. This is the highest accomplishment by any Indian team during the PUBG Mobile era. Previously, he was part of famous organizations such as Fnatic, Team Soul, and TeamIND.

We have seen him on multiple rosters of Team XSpark in the past, and he participated last year in the India-Korea Invitational as well. He is currently part of 8Bit Creatives and the two-time winner of the Esports Content Group of the Year award S8UL. He plays on the team known as Team Zero.

How does it feel seeing Team XSpark take part in the third edition of BGMI India Series (BGIS)?

ScoutOP: Um, I personally feel like the official BGMI tournaments are the main tournaments that all the teams need to focus on, and all the third-party tournaments are just for practice. So, it feels great qualifying continuously for all the officials, and today was a really good start by Team XSpark. Honestly, we’re looking forward to winning our first Championship during this event.

Talking about your team and their consistency. As an owner of the organization, how does it make you feel when your players are making the most out of each opportunity:

I don’t treat my players like employees or players of my team. They are basically my brothers who live in my house under the same roof. We share our days entirely together, so our relationship is more like a brotherhood than the players and owner complex in other teams. These four players were already well known in the community, and they are making every second count. Seeing them perform well makes me feel like it’s my own brothers who are doing well on the main stage.

We all know that BGIS The Grind was quite a long event for teams to qualify for the grand finale. How do you remember feeling when you realized that they qualified?

Unfortunately, we did not qualify directly. We had to come from the Indian qualifiers, which was hard. But after we qualified, it felt perfect because my boys pushed through and made it to the top again.

With great performance by XSpark and iQOO Soul in the BGIS, does it make you feel happy that the S8UL community is growing together in Esports and Content Creation?

It feels good. We started from scratch, and we are here. We aim to get our content on the world map and repeat the achievements we accomplished last year. Last year, we won the award during the ‘Esports Content Group of the Year’ award at the Esports Awards 2023 in Las Vegas. We have been nominated again and hope to accomplish more. So, it feels great. And yeah, we are still thinking about winning it again and becoming the champs three times in a row.
