As if Dave Meltzer wasn’t having a bad enough week with his reporting, now WrestleVotes is claiming that whoever told him that Seth Rollins gave a speech was wrong. His source claimed that Seth Rollins talked to the roster about the events that happened in Saudi Arabia last week. He was also told that they were encouraged to keep the details about their trip and their meeting off of social media. Immediately following, Seth Rollins had some disparaging remarks for Meltzer.
And lastly, @davemeltzerWON, you’re at best a purveyor of misinformation or at worst an outright, vindictive liar. I hope it’s the former. #rahrah

WrestleVotes’ source claims that AJ Styles’ speech wasn’t a “rah-rah” speech like Seth Rollins’ speech. It was just him speaking up during a meeting. This is similar to how Meltzer had mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that several other talent had spoken up as well, but that their input was much shorter.
This Dave Meltzer / Seth Rollins stuff is funny. Dave reporting Rollins spoke at the Talent Meeting held prior to RAW yesterday. He didn’t.
However, AJ Styles did. He spoke up & shared his thoughts according to a source. AJ is very well respected backstage so his voice matters.

Meanwhile, Seth Rollins called out Dave Meltzer for his misinformation. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer made it a point to stress how he didn’t understand why Rollins would be upset with him about any of this. Rollins Responded:
No Dave, my problem is that you’re spreading complete lies. I gave no speech. I said nothing before, during or after the meeting. So either you or your source is full of it. Either way, it’s a bold faced lie and I kindly ask you to quit pushing it. https://t.co/1G2umltIqm

Dave quickly replied with an apology and reassuring that he takes false information very seriously:
Very sorry on this. I don't want to spread misinformation.

If you’re wondering whether or not Meltzer’s apology is sincere:
No, not tongue in cheek at all. I always want to correct any mistakes. https://t.co/JFZyZ3ya2p

Meltzer also went as far as writing a redaction for his website with a lengthy apology, which you can visit here:
We would like to retract a comment from both Monday’s daily update and Monday’s post-Raw Wrestling Observer Radio regarding Seth Rollins and the meeting Vince McMahon held with talent yesterday before Raw.
We had included comments and discussed on WOR that Rollins had spoken at the meeting, but he has since said on Twitter and released a statement to Fightful that he did not. We apologize for this error.
It is our policy in our newsletters and on our podcasts to correct mistakes as soon as possible and to always clarify if there are misunderstandings.
