Following Thursday’s Crown Jewel event, WWE talent and crew were stranded in Saudi Arabia due to a reported mechanical issue, with rumors circulating that the Crown Prince was the actual culprit for the delay. WWE would issue a press release stating that several of their top stars felt so strongly about making it to Friday Night SmackDown in time, they pooled their money together to pay for their own charter, however that wouldn’t land back in the United States until well after the Fox broadcast began.
This gave the appearance that the wrestlers who didn’t pay for a charter seemed unmotivated and lazy. Those stars aired their grievances about this on social media.
Curtis Axel writes, “Not the #Top20? [middle finger emoji] I’m #1 at home! We don’t leave each other behind. @WWE”
Luke Harper posted on IG: “Larry, I’m home. I guess I didn’t want it enough to pay for my own charter, but I’m home now. #NotTop20”
In the comments of Luke Harper’s post, Tyson Kidd, Scott Dawson, and Eric Young all responded, claiming that next time they won’t be so poor and get their own plane.
Even AEW champion Chris Jericho jumped in. He writes, “Shame on you lazy embarrassments to the company…Glad everybody made it home safely!”
Karl Anderson would then take to Twitter and question who will be the locker room leader on Monday.
