According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the XFL is willing to pay its quarterbacks up to $300,000 each.
The plan appears to be to entice 8 high profile QBs to sign contracts sooner rather than later. The goal is to have all eight QBs and head coaches signed by the end of March. This will allow for promotion in the local markets and a full ten months to advertise and prepare for the first season.
While the financial numbers are nowhere close to what the top quarterbacks in the NFL make, they aren’t chump change either. It remains to be seen how high a caliber player that salary will draw in, but it appears that the XFL at least has a plan in place to move forward.
