On the most recent episode of “Wrestling Observer Radio”, Dave Meltzer discussed Hideo Itami’s release. Meltzer speculated that the main reason that Itami was granted his release whereas others haven’t is because he’s likely signed a release promising that he’d be returning to Japan rather than going to an American competitor.

Meltzer is unsure of which of the Japanese promotions Itami will end up with, but believes that NOAH could have the inside edge due to their past working relationship.
