Tarkov’s Next Major Patch Has Been Delayed

on

Battlestate Games has just confirmed that the next big patch for Escape from Tarkov – 0.14.9.5 – has been delayed. It was supposed to drop this month but it’s being moved back to early July, for reasons unknown. This patch is set to bring about some major changes, with tweaks being made to the standard offering and the recently added PvE mode in Escape from Tarkov. Battlestate has some interesting features lined up for 0.14.9.5, but players will need to wait a little longer before they can access it.

Things have mostly cooled off now for Battlestate Games and Escape from Tarkov. In the last few weeks, the team found itself in hot water over The Unheard Edition scandal, but the community has calmed down considerably by now. They’re all busy preparing for the impending wipe, which is set to drop in August.

For PvE players, there are plenty of sizeable changes on the way.

Firstly, solo players will get the ability to play locally, rather than queuing to join a server on a wider network. This means that matches will be accessible almost instantly, eradicating the need to queue for so long when you’re not even playing with anyone else. Also, major improvements are being made to the AI PMC behaviour in PvE, which up until now has been wildly inconsistent. Finally, players will be able to reset their character profile in PvE, which is important as the mode won’t undergo the traditional ‘wipe’ that PvP profiles will.

Oh, and PvE mode will be available for purchase for everyone who owns a copy of Escape from Tarkov, regardless of their ‘tier’.

Battlestate Games also revealed that a new ‘in-game poll system’ is being introduced, but nobody really knows what that looks like. There’s a brand-new questline coming, ‘Nostalgia’, and improvements have been made to the item wishlist. Again, it’s not yet clear what these are. There are also new outfits coming to the game, which is huge for anyone who likes to keep it a little fresh.

One of the most interesting new features coming to Escape from Tarkov is the new reward system. Players who successfully report a cheater will receive in-game compensation, but it hasn’t yet been said what that looks like.

Plenty of content is coming with patch 0.14.9.5, but there are a couple more weeks to wait until it’s available worldwide.
