Legendary announcer Jim Ross and his podcasting partner Conrad Thompson stirred up the wrestling world last week when they speculated about the possibility of Shane McMahon working with Ross’ current company, AEW.

Their speculation was largely based on a conversation between Shane and a former WWE wrestler currently on the AEW roster that was relayed to Thompson. A report came out soon after that qualified McMahon’s comments during that conversation as joking, and AEW owner Tony Khan commented to say he’d never met or spoken to Vince McMahon’s son before.

But as Khan makes the media rounds ahead of AEW’s Forbidden Door PPV this Sunday, he was again asked about the Shane O’Mac talk by SI.com’s Justin Barrasso.

“I heard the rumor he might be interested,” said Khan, referring to the discussion from the Grilling JR podcast between Conrad Thompson and Jim Ross. “I’ve never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends. I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW.”

Never say never, rasslin’ fans…
