Above is the new trailer for the “Rabid” horror movie, which features CM Punk and AJ Lee in supporting roles.
Punk appears in the trailer at around the 1:45 mark. He plays a character named Billy, while AJ plays a character named Kira.
“Rabid” is a remake of the 1977 movie with the same name. It will be written and directed by The Soska Twins, who are WWE fans that have worked on a few WWE Studios projects, including See No Evil 2 with Kane.
The short synopsis for the film reads like this: “A group of unsuspecting passengers board a murder mystery train that derails and what awaits them in the murky water is far worse than anything they could ever imagine.”
The movie will premiere on Monday, August 26 at Fright Fest in London. It will be released digitally, on-demand and on DVD/Blu-ray at a later date, apparently in 2020, according to the website.
Benjamin Hollingsworth and Laura Vandervoort star in the movie. As seen below, Punk is billed by his real name, Phil Brooks, on the promotional poster:
