As many have noted, a wrestling promotions legitimacy is largely defined by the TV deal(s) it has in place. The WWE continues to thrive despite declining attendance and ratings as a result of the massive television deals that they have struck.

One of the biggest outstanding questions for AEW centers around what network will ultimately end up airing their programming.

Dave Meltzer is reporting in the most recent edition of “The Wrestling Observer” that AEW has narrowed down their choice between two “legitimate” TV deals. Meltzer uses the term legitimate because if his sources are to be believed, the deals on the table are the most lucrative than any company outside of the WWE has been able to obtain since WCW days.

With many announcements expected at the “Double or Nothing” party on February 7th, it is possible that it could be the stage where a formal television deal is announced. It remains to be seen whether or not AEW will end up going head to head with the WWE. We will bring additional updates on an AEW television deal as it becomes available.
