Alberto Del Rio made headlines earlier this week when he revealed that he apologized to Triple H and insinuated that the door to return may be open.

Fightful put out a report today refuting the WWE’s interest in Del Rio. According to the report, Del Rio’s issues go further than the bad blood he had on his way out the door – that they stem from repeatedly poor impressions that he made on management, behind the scenes staff and other wrestlers. On top of the bad impressions, his no-show issues last year aren’t something that the company takes lightly.

In addition, although the WWE doesn’t currently have any plans to use Paige on camera, they hold her in high regard and wouldn’t be interested in putting her in an uncomfortable position by bringing Del Rio back into the fold. Paige has reportedly impressed management through her promotional work for her “Fighting With My Family Tour” and the WWE values her tremendously as a result.

Fightful specified that according to their sources, this isn’t a situation in which Paige or any other superstars have actively petitioned to keep Del Rio out of the company, but more of a situation where the WWE just doesn’t want to go down the path.

Lastly, while there isn’t any specific bad blood, the impression within the WWE is that Del Rio hasn’t done much to repair his image outside of to people and organizations that can provide him with an additional paycheck.

While one should never say never, it doesn’t appear that the WWE has nearly the interest in an Alberto Del Rio return as Del Rio implied in his interview earlier this week.
